Pope John Paul II Tomb |
12/06/2005 |
|
Giovanni Paolo II was a beloved Pope and many still come to his tomb to pay their respects. Crowds should have thinned by now but you may still have a short wait to pass the tomb. There is no cost for the privilege.
It is possible to celebrate mass with the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI. For permission to attend go to the Preferttura della Casa Pontifica through the bronze doors under the colonnade to the right of St Peter's as you face the church. The office opens 9am to 1pm. Apply on a Tuesday, the day before the audience. You can also do it in writing, specify the date you'd like to attend and the number of tickets required. If you have a hotel in Rome the office can send the tickets there. The tickets are free. Write to Prefettura della Casa Pontificia, 00120 Citta del Vaticano. |
