In this series the charismatic and easily irritable Salvo Montalbano solves anything from murder, to kidnapping to political intrigues on the delightful Sicilian isle. The series are actually based on books by Andrea Camillieri and included titles like The Snack Thief, The Terra-Cotta Dog and the Shape of Water. As you would expect in an Italian series there is a lot of mouth watering food that Salvo always appreciates, beautiful women that come his way and plenty of unprententious behaviour by young Salvo who does not care who he offends!
The series is set in the fictional seaside resort of Figata and Salvo's house has an amazing beachside location.
The series has become very popular and Salvo is compared to many other famous fictionary detectives now.
