| The Amalfi Coast and Sicily are good places to wait out the Italian winter with generally sunny days a nice respite from the rain of the north.
Here are some places to consider visiting:
Atrani, Amalfi:
This delightful little village is only 1 km from Amalfi and you don't have the tourist costs associated with it. There are some great walks, a tiny little piazza and wonderful sea views.
Cefalu, Sicily:
This is a very small fishermen's village close to Palermo. Quiet, sleepy and a good break from the capital.
Erice and Trapani, Sicily:
These two towns on the far western coast have excellent seafood markets, wonderful views of the Mediterranean and friendly people.
