SAFE PLACES
Try to avoid the hawkers offering rooms around the station on arrival as many of these places are less reputable and may even double as brothels.

Most of the cheaper options around the Stazione Centrale which may be a dubious area but the lodgings themselves are safe enough. Ask the staff at the tourist office for recommendations if you’re not sure or email us at italy@backpackglobe.com


CAMPING
Unfortunately there are no camp sites immediately in Naples. The closest are in Pompeii or Pozzuoli.





HOSTELS
There is only one official HI hostel in town but there are a number of guesthouse type establishments that have both private and dormitory rooms – see the penziones listing. PENSIONES
A lot of the budget pensiones in Napoli are around Piazza Dante, take bus No R2 from Stazione Centrale or walk from Montesanto or Piazza Cavour metro station

Budget options are around Piazza Dante or the Central Station or go to Santa Lucia near the waterfront.
